The password is one of the most famous and simplest means of digital verification in the world of the Internet, as it is used at all levels, from personal use of various sites, to the systems of banks, large companies and most government institutions, although it is the most easily penetrated digital verification method and vulnerable to electronic attacks.

That's why Agile Bites, the Toronto-based operator of password manager Password 1, has found a solution to the password problems faced by many users around the world.

A new solution for password problems

The company explained, according to the technical site "The Freej", that it will begin next summer to use the new technology, known as "biometric fingerprint", which it called "passkey".

Features of the "Password 1" program

Password 1 allows users to store their passwords as well as other sensitive information in a password-locked "virtual vault" known by many as a "password manager."

The new technology uses the "biometric fingerprint" to open accounts on its platform without the need for the password currently in force.

A note will appear while using the program, asking the user if he wants to open it through the new technology that requires placing the fingerprint on the computer or smartphone.

The shift marks a new step toward the end of the era of "password vaults" protected data, with the emergence of a new, more secure verification tool.

The company "Agile Beats" indicated that the electronic fingerprint is not new, as Apple has been working on its design and development for years, and is used in many things such as verification and authentication of purchases through the payment platform "Apple Pay".

But according to the company, this tool did not completely replace the password, but was just a cover on it, so Password 1 periodically asks users to type in the password to ensure that the user still remembers the password.

She added that the new tool will unlock all the locks of secret accounts, including the main account in the program, and according to this technology, users can get rid of passwords permanently.

What is a "biometric fingerprint"?

"Biometric fingerprinting" is the automatic identification of individuals based on their biological and behavioral traits, and they are unique and measurable human signatures, including fingerprints, iris scans or the way an individual does something (such as the way they walk or write), and it is one of the most reliable means of proof of identity available to us, it is very difficult to falsify.

Humanitarian organizations have increasingly used "biometric data" identification methods because they make it easier to identify individuals and prevent misuse of humanitarian aid.

Traditional paper-based identifiers (e.g. paper identification cards) are easy to counterfeit, can lead to duplication, denial or fraud, and paper identification cards can be easily lost, damaged and/or stolen.

On the other hand, "biometric data" can confirm the identity of individuals who have no other means of proving their identity, for example if they flee their places or countries of origin.

"Biometric data" is collected using a fast, confidential, non-intrusive process that captures a facial image with a digital camera and a 10-digit fingerprint scan using a digital scanner.
